Wives are cool. Many of the good things in life are due to wives. In general, it’s not really the end of the world that a man needs a woman in order to procreate and find emotional fulfillment. So, really, all is well with the wife, and wives.
But, you know how it is. Sometimes the wife is not just a companion, but she becomes a parent. That’s okay when she’s parenting the kids, not when she has become your mother. It’s not that she becomes like her mother-in-law, but that she starts taking on the responsibilities of a mother with regard to you, her husband.
I attach no blame or ill will to this occurrence, and in fact, it stems from love and caring. But it is a pain when you have to become the bender man to manouver around the wife.
That’s what I did. I kinda knew she wasn’t in for something, and yet I still asked her about it. She answered in the negative, exactly as I expected she would. But then I did the opposite of what she said! I am known to do what I want, and I am usually sensitive not doing things that will really upset her. But here I asked her, she said no, and I still did it!
Of course she was more upset about the whole process of disregarding her after specifically asking her than me actually having carried through with it. The good news is that it wasn’t the end of the world getting myself out of that situation – so my bending still works.
Even though I once again was worthy of my title, Mr. Bender Ball, I had to do so much manouvering that my back hurts, and I feel as if I bent the ball too much!
